ABOUT

b. 1986, HK.

I’m a New York-based set and projections designer for live performance. I believe in the power of the performing arts to increase empathy and facilitate social change. I’m equally passionate about exhaustive research and spontaneous creativity.

I graduated from University of Michigan and Yale School of Drama. I’m a proud member of United Scenic Artists Local 829 and very active in voters rights and organized labor.

I’m passionate about improving sustainability and economic resilience in the performing arts and co-authored The Sustainable Production Toolkit. I’ve lectured and consulted on sustainability at numerous universities and theaters.

I enjoy fostering conversations about design, dramaturgy and activism and have curated panel discussions for Wingspace Theatrical Design on: Gender Diversity in the Theatre, Green Model Making, Trans/GNC Representation in the Performing Arts, Teaching to Take Down the Patriarchy, Intellectual Property in the Theater, Design Pedagogy, Production Photography, Sustainable Production, and The Black Experience in the Musical, after 1865.

My photographs have been featured in many New York Times theater reviews.

I am a mediocre player of the upright bass and live with my wife Kelly, daughter Domino, and rescue dog George in New York City.
